hard.times has been performing live as an instrumental quartet (and occasional trio) since 2019. Debuting with a set at the Victoria Jazz Festival in summer 2019, and then recording a live-off-the-floor album to tape in summer 2020, the band takes the concept of quintuplet swing to a place few have ventured: syncopation, improvisation, and intricate compositions are staples of their sound.
